Privacy Policy — Carnest

Carnest (“the app”) is developed by Berat Mehmetoglu. This policy explains what the app does — and does not do — with your information.

Summary

Carnest does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device, or — with Carnest Pro — in your own private iCloud account. There are no accounts to create, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking.

Data you enter

The data you add is stored on your device using Apple’s on-device database (SwiftData). It is never sent to us or to any third party. We operate no servers and have no way to access it. If you enable iCloud device backup, your data may also be included in that backup under Apple’s terms; this is handled entirely by Apple/iOS, not by Carnest.

iCloud backup and sync (Carnest Pro)

With Carnest Pro, your vehicles, service records, reminders and receipt photos are mirrored to the private database of your own iCloud account, so that your history survives a lost, broken or replaced phone and appears on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. This is Apple’s CloudKit: the data goes to Apple under Apple’s privacy policy and your own Apple Account, not to us. We have no server, no console access and no way to read, recover or delete what is in your private database — only you can, from your device or from your Apple Account settings.

Backup is off on the free tier, and the app tells you which state it is in on the Settings → Backup & Sync row. Turning it off (or a subscription lapsing) never deletes anything: the same records stay on your device exactly as before.

Camera

The camera is used only when you choose to photograph a service receipt, and permission is asked for at that moment — never at launch. The photo is stored on your device, and with Carnest Pro in your own private iCloud account as described above. It is never uploaded to us or shared with anyone.

Purchases

Carnest Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. All payment processing is handled by Apple under your Apple ID; Carnest never receives or stores your payment details. Purchase/restore status is read from Apple’s StoreKit on your device only.

Notifications

Service reminders are scheduled and delivered locally on your device. No notification data leaves the device, and we never send you a push message — there is no server that could.

Children

Carnest is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will be revised.
