Terms of Use (EULA) — Tern

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Tern app (“the app”), provided by Berat Mehmetoglu (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app you agree to these Terms.

License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and the standard Apple End User License Agreement (EULA), which apply in addition to these Terms.

Subscriptions and purchases

Tern is free to curate and share a limited number of trips as watermark-free videos. Tern Pro unlocks unlimited curated trips, watermark-free video export, and future Pro features, and is offered as:

Tern Pro (Lifetime) — a one-time, non-consumable purchase.
Tern Pro (Yearly) — an auto-renewable subscription, which may include a free trial period.
Tern Pro (Monthly) — an auto-renewable subscription.

For auto-renewable subscriptions:

If offered, a free trial converts automatically into a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase (or at the end of the trial, if applicable).
The subscription automatically renews at the then-current price unless it is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your device’s App Store account settings after purchase.
Prices are shown in the app prior to purchase and may vary by region.

All billing and refunds are handled by Apple under your Apple ID; we do not process or store payment information. Refund requests are subject to Apple’s policies.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes and not to misuse, reverse engineer, or interfere with the app except as permitted by law.

Your data

Tern stores the map, trips, and stats it builds from your photos and location locally on your device and collects no personal information. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Third-party map service

The interactive globe is powered by the Mapbox Maps SDK, subject to Mapbox’s own terms. Your use of the map feature is also subject to those terms.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Tern helps you visualize memories from photos and location history already on your device — it does not guarantee complete or perfectly accurate detection of every place you visited, and you remain responsible for reviewing and curating your own trips before sharing them. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above will reflect changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
