Privacy Policy — Kehribar
Last updated: 13 August 2026
Kehribar (“the app”) is developed by Berat Mehmetoglu. This policy explains what the app does — and does not do — with your information.
Summary
Kehribar does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking.
Data you enter
The data you add is stored only on your device using Apple’s on-device database (SwiftData). It is never sent to us or to any third party. We operate no servers and have no way to access it. If you enable iCloud device backup, your data may be included in that backup under Apple’s terms; this is handled entirely by Apple/iOS, not by Kehribar.
Microphone
The microphone is used only to record audio you choose to keep — a first word, a song, a voice at a certain age. Recordings are stored on your device at their original quality and are never uploaded, analysed, or shared.
Recording continues while Kehribar is in the background, so that putting the phone down or locking the screen does not cut the take short. It records only while a recording you started is running, and stops when you stop it.
Photos
Kehribar never reads your photo library. Choosing photos for the archive uses the system picker, which hands Kehribar only the pictures you picked and needs no permission at all.
The one permission Kehribar asks for is to add to your library, and only at the moment you tap “Save to Photos” on a card Kehribar drew for you. It permits writing that one image and gives Kehribar no way to look at anything already there. Nothing is uploaded or shared either way.
Purchases
Kehribar Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. All payment processing is handled by Apple under your Apple ID; Kehribar never receives or stores your payment details. Purchase/restore status is read from Apple’s StoreKit on your device only.
Notifications
Kehribar’s writing prompts and reminders are composed from a list that ships inside the app and are scheduled and delivered locally on your device. No notification data leaves the device, and no server is involved in deciding what you are asked.
Children
Kehribar is an app for a parent, about a child. The child is not a user: there is no child account, no child login, and nothing for a child to sign up to. The app is not directed at children and is not distributed in the App Store’s Kids category.
Because the archive is a record of a child, it is worth being exact about where it lives: the photos, recordings, notes, measurements and dates you enter about your child are stored on your device only. We never receive them, we cannot read them, and there is no account for us to lock, sell, or deactivate. If Kehribar ever stopped being published, your archive would still be on your device and could still be exported in full.
Kehribar is built on the view that a child has a right to privacy in the record kept of them. Nothing is shared automatically or by default, and the export exists so that when the child is old enough, the archive can be handed to them rather than kept from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will be revised.
